She is a young Japanese cultural anthropologist. She travels the world. She notices what most travelers miss.

She was inspired by a real person.

Beyond that... who knows? A name whispered from a very small, very far-away place. A face rarely shown in full. A voice with the softest Japanese lilt.

We chose to keep some things a secret. Because the best stories — the ones worth telling for years — always begin with a little mystery.
